Explore Daufuskie Island on a Boat Tour
Catch a glimpse of a fascinating chapter of Lowcountry history. Daufuskie Island (pronounced “Da-Fus-Kee”) is only accessible by boat, so this tour begins with a cruise to the island. Your Captain, who is a naturalist and historian, will get you up close to local wildlife and explain the significant historic, natural and cultural highlights along the way. Once you get to the island, the group will load into golf carts for the guided tour of the islands interior.
Your Captain will lead you to several one-of-a-kind places on Daufuskie including: First African Baptist Church, the Praise House, Mary Fields School (memorialized in Pat Conroy’s “The Water is Wide”), and the site of the Bloody Point Lighthouse. Other stops include visits to local artist and artisan studios, to see their work and learn about how they are influenced by this unique place.
This trip includes: private round trip boat transportation from Savannah to Daufuskie Island, private golf cart tour of Daufuskie island, and your own interpretive naturalist historian Captain-guide. Available in private programs for up to 6 passengers, up to 12 passengers or up to 16 passengers.
